Cookie Policy

We use one cookie of our own and a few items in your browser’s local storage, to sign you in and to remember your settings. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

What We Store

nb_memberCookie · essential

Keeps you signed in to the members area. Set by NB’s server for nbarnil.com and its subdomains. Scripts cannot read it, and it is sent only over HTTPS.

Kept for 24 hours, or until you sign out

nb_authed, nb_session_exp, nb_session_startedLocal storage · essential

Records that you are signed in, when the session started and when it expires, so pages in the members area can send you to the sign-in page immediately when you are signed out or the session has expired.

Removed when you sign out, or when a page in the members area finds the session has expired

nb_discord_link, nb_signin, nb_email_linkLocal and session storage · sign-in

Remembers on this device which Discord account you linked after signing in with Google or an email address, with the tokens Discord issued for it, so NB can renew the link and you do not have to connect it again; holds a sign-in in progress while you are on Discord’s page; and remembers the address we sent a sign-in link to, until you open the link.

The Discord link until you choose another account or remove NB under Authorized Apps in your Discord settings; the rest until the sign-in finishes

hg.surface_theme, hg.strike_profile.filterLocal storage · settings

Remembers the chart theme and the expiry filter you chose in the members tools. Set by api.nbarnil.com.

Kept until you clear your browser storage

nb_remembered_key, nb_keytailLocal storage · access-key sign-in

Only while access keys are still in use: remembers the access key you last used, so the sign-in page can offer that key again, and a short fingerprint of it.

Kept after you sign out, until you clear your browser storage

Google and Discord

When the sign-in page opens, it loads Google’s sign-in script, so Continue with Google can open Google’s window when you choose it. Google then receives your IP address and browser details and uses its own cookies. Discord is contacted only when you choose it, on its own sign-in page. We cannot read its cookies. If you sign in with an email address and we send you a sign-in link, Google’s Firebase sends it, and the page contacts Google once more to confirm it when you open the link.

Why We Do Not Ask for Consent

Storage that is strictly necessary for a service you asked for, or that only remembers a setting you chose, does not need consent, so we show a short notice instead of a consent banner. If we add non-essential storage, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent first, and you can refuse.

Blocking or Deleting Cookies

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking nb_member stops you signing in to the members area.
